Danila was born in the USSR, in 1996 his family moved to Budapest,Hungary where he finished his studies at Eštvšs Lor‡nt Science University faculty of Russian Language and Literature and Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design faculty of film and media design.

In 2002 he was awarded for his first one minute long social spot, which was followed by several music videos, documentaries and commercials. Now he is living and working in Barcelona.

He recently finished his first feature length documentary, Kulo City, which was an experiment to combine live action, stop motion and other animation techniques at the same time. With his unique approach to visuals and passion to explore and experiments new ways Danila is constantly searching for new opportunities for story telling.

Danila previously studied and worked as a 2D compositor (Fusion, Shake, Nuke) which makes him experienced and comfortable in complicated post production work flows (animation, VFX/cgi and mixed technique films) and able to optimize the perfect balance between analogue and digital techniques to achieve the best results in his films.

The multi-cultural background (russian-hungarian-spanish) sometimes gives a very mysterious and immersive touch to his films. Combining styles and techniques are his favorite playground in filmmaking. Funny surrealism, ironic intellectuality and beautiful melancholy are standing close to Danila's world.
